MARKED WORK CHP 23-24
Q)Comment on the following,add a positive and a negative point.
Ans:The idea of road crossing was full of thrill and suspense for me while reading the novel because it was my first experience to read the novel the negative point about it is that if that park is magical/cursed then if they had came out then why are they still tiny as a ant or microorganism. Counting the distance between the cars was good way to make reader understand it easily but it was little childish for me because in this modern world there are many cars which speed are very fast and uncatchable such as porch,Farari, BMW,Mazda .......
The negative aspect of crossing the road was that they were going one by one,they should have gone together as they were going in the park so every one could help each other.The positive point about this is that they had the hope and courage that they will reach their destination(other side of road). As you all know that the characters were counting the distance between each car passed. The positive point about this is that that they tried their best to save themselves from the cars.The negative point about this is that the car can come any time since there is no fixed time that when a car will pass through there.
(Continuing from the lecture) CROSSING THE ROAD Though, the reader found this part very interesting and thrilling since the characters were taking dangerous risks and this was an exciting segment of their journey too which resulted in the liking of the readers. Even though it was brilliant but there was a thing which the readers found negative and a bit lame, because the characters should have gone together rather than one by one and also because if logically thought so someone is very likely, infect almost certain to be injured but nothing a such took place except the tense circumstances which made the characters, especially Robert stumble and lose control of their mental and physical balance, thus the writer should have been more creative. COUTING THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CARS The writer showed up a thing which wasn’t used by any character throughout the novel, which was counting the distance between cars, at one stage it was helpful to infer how to carry on the massive challenge in terms of time and seemed fine to the readers too, but at the other hand it turned out to be a poor idea ever since it was temporary satisfaction, the vehicles have no significant time or even speed that they could have certainly done serious damage to the plan and characters, and the author didn’t prove herself wrong; like she did recently. Though, the readers expected something better, the writer should have been a lot more open minded here and we can still comment that she is still a trickle distant from her destination to convey us the message perfectly of coping with life and reality.
CROSSING THE ROAD: It was a suspensive idea shown by the author, the characters were ready to face any risk without hesitation. The negative aspect was that the landscape was confusing, it was not entirely clear there were things that the readers could not understand. It should had shown more imaginatively for the readers to understand. COUTING THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CARS: Even though it was a creative idea, since the characters had no way of measuring time, it was not accurate because cars don't go in the same speed specially at night since there are very less cars. The author should have shown a better idea, more accurate way for the characters to get pass the road safely without relying on luck.

Cross the road....Which was way to difficult for those who are shrunked in size and have a small body. But the author made this work so challenging for the characters that the readers were full of suspense and curious,this was one of the effort shown by the author,In my opinion this effort is way to good because by this the author is showing the characters to be more independaple and way to confident so this was a positive point to be noticed the thing which make me a bit unhappening was that due to the mishappening of the car,Robert somewhere loses his courage but then i would like to appreciate the author for adding so much thrill so much hard working tht robert himself get welled sooned and the other aspect which i would point as negative was that the three charachters should go altogether not like one by one so they all could face reality together. At the second part which was when they all were counting the distances made me appreciate the author as he/sshe brought a very creative and unexpected idea by showing the trick of the characters to measure the distance and it also made me think about the character traits of the characters that how quirky they are it was a very wise act to measure the distance or speed when we are out of facilities THOUGH there was a very objectable point that cars never go in one same speed especially at night so the author should show a more accurate or better equipment to measure the time/distance/speed but still i would like to hats off to GILLIAN CROSS as he/she completely gave as a reasons to think about the poors and taught us that how to cope with life and reality till the dead end of life ;|
CROSSING ROAD Ans I think that the idea of crossing road was amazing because on that time characters take a very big risk from which they could die also but the thing that readers find negative was that, that the should cross the road altogether so one can lose their hope and they could know that someone is with them in a danger too, overall it was great and the part that I like the most was that they cross the road at night because there are less car and less danger.

Ans I think the idea of author of counting the distance between the cars was somehow stupid because some cars drive very fastly and some cars drive very slowly so I think author should have more creative at this time and should add something to this.
Crossing the road was very difficult for them because they so small and shrunk in size the positive thing was that the author make this thing challenging for them and suspicious for them and it was a big risk for them because they can die also but it very suspicious part of the novel and author is showing good effort because characters are very confident and they are so much independent these were the positive point the negative point were that mishappening of the car snd at this point robert loses his hope and his confidence but it was very good part of the story.
Counting distance bewteen cars was an easy for us to understand but it was so childish because we people live in modern world and we can see that some cars run so fast that nobody can count the distance that,s why i think it was little foolish.
While crossing the road, she added a car and ogre bird. This idea of her, wasn't good because the main character might get eaten by the ogre-bird or an accident may have occurred and they were very scared and were shivering with fear as well. After all, they struggled so much to become successful so they should be give credit for their hard work. But this idea also build up the readers' curiosity, that what would happen next and whether they would be able to cross the road or not. At the end of this chapter, they were successful and they reached the wall, so this idea was surprising.
When they were crossing the road, the author mentions that Cam is counting the distance between the cars. This idea is really important for the characters because if they would have to go back for rescuing more survivors, they would be knowing when to cross the road depending on the number of cars passing through the road. But at the same point, it felt that Cam shouldn't have counted the distance because this might distract her and she might have started to concentrate on what number she was and she might not see the cars coming on the road by chance.
(Continued from the last line of the lecture) ...as when she shows them juggling to move on with a small size and energy that has drained out she still makes them survive till the peek. A negative aspect over which the readers may object is that she seems to show the characters partially scared and partially clayed up. Where as when they have spotted to travel further they need to venture on it without shivers and should be more bold enough. The other thing which could cause concoction is that she shows the characters fighting from another bird, yet they are victorious. Its been a lot of times where they fight with a beast, she should put a bit more creative idea to present the characters strongly. Three people fighting with a bird at this point could be a bit witty. She should have shown more tragedy, strategy and suspense. The writer should be praised for showing the courage and the thought that they had to cross the road any how because they had blended all the effort for this. Showing the willingness and power in mutating mysterious diseases in an attempt to re-establish is what the readers would allure.
Despite being salted with the darker aspects of life, Cross's writing for older teens is never depressing. She believes individuals are capable of confronting difficult problems, making decisions, and living happier as a result she made it more well as struggle to survive in a world where jungles and forests and primeval wetlands and deserts have obliterated civilization. The act of counting the distance between cars was a good idea to measure or imagine when to step forward or after which interval. But the question that could arise in the reader's mind is that why didn't she think practically? why she thought of counting the distance between cars? As the negative aspect of this act is that the cars could have any speed, they must be moving at different speeds so every time the intervals won't be the same. This could get more confusing, but then it didn't where as it should have been. It is infantile showing the characters cross the road with out any hauling fact! Over all we can comment that the writer is trying her best to convey the message of coping with life but due to her own contradictions to her ideas she fails to conquer this aspect.
Crossing the road………this was the really a big and a dangerous risk for the characters but unfortunately they could do nothing else and had to proceed even staying and waiting was also not good. As it was a really challenging task for the characters which made the novel much suspenseful and the readers were more curious about it. The good thing that I found in crossing of the road was that the characters had perseverance in them and struggled very hard with hope which helped them to reach their destination. But the negative point that I found was that the characters were not going together like this only Robert was in a great danger from which he lost his courage so I think they should have gone together which would have been easier for them. I think it was a little silly thing to count the distance between the cars they should face reality so they could have done something else but it was a good idea somehow which made the characters comforted which helped them gain more courage. By this idea we can understand that how many difficulties the characters are facing as they could do not much thing in this size.
the bad point of crossing the road was that they had to cross the road in group as they had done in the jungle so that they can cross it easily and the good point was they had the courage the hope that they can cross the road the bad point of distance of cars were that the author had shown reality not by counting the distance but by something else and the good point was that they had known when to so that they can cross the road with comfort and without taking a big risk !!! .
it was a good idea to show how they cross the road but then also there are also different ways to show how they reach there homes and it was also good because they have shown so much adventure in it.
the other that was counting the time was a good way to show that how they should go,at what time they should go but it was difficult to tell that when they should go because the speed of cars are changed.
Ans-1 : Crossing of the road was very good and right decision because, for all of them was necessary to cross the road to get their destination,by this they all built a new hope and courage, as an act has a positive point as well as it has a negative aspect i.e., crossing the road was not safe because all three of them were shrank, So this show that size does matter a lot. This step was really dangerous for them as any accident could occur at any time.
Ans-2: Counting the distance between the cars was not really a sensible act shown by the author because this act was going towards imagination and it was not a right decision made by three of them,this act was only for their satisfaction and it was for short term . It was very dangerous job to be carried out by three of them. The positive point was that they were trying to make themselves agree to cross the road and they were in other words want to get rid from fear.or want to go beyond their fear.

Crossing road was a good idea because this made the novel more interesting,thrilling, full of suspense etc. That way it was like very interesting and was good in reading that the character's are know in danger it was very hard for them to cross the road because the author (GC)shrunk-ed them and being such a small in size is really hard and scary to cross the road but yes the they were united with each other they were coping well with each-other that was a brilliant idea of GC that they were enough confident to cross the road and were trying to reach their destination. Nice idea that they were counting the distance b/w the cars it was helpful but sometimes not because every car wasn't going at the same/accurate speed it was stupid and good idea too! and the cars weren't going at the same speed at all! [ONE] at night there are very less cars [2] they can easily go fast and furiously the reason less cars and less traffic etc.
